Sunday 3/May/2009150 men packed the humble musalah on Clyde st South Granville to be in the presence of al habib Umar for fajr prayers, communal wird al lateef and the daily fajr lesson. Al habib Umar reminded the congregation about the valuable and weighty reward for the individual praying fajr in jamaa remembering Allah (such as through these lessons) and following these actions with the performance of duha prayers every morning.Daar Aisha and al habib Umar hosted 70 male brothers deeply involved in dawa prior to lunch. Some take home messages included the realization that knowledge that doesn’t increase ones kushou in Allah (s.w.t.) is not really knowledge. Similarly a man studied under imam malik for 20 years of which 18 were dedicated to adab and purification. This individual stated that had he had more time he would have spent it further in purification. The second and last of the purification talks at Gallipoli Mosque attracted even greater numbers with 500 men and 300 women. Al habib focused on the forgiveness that descends upon sinning Muslims from their believing brothers and emphasized how great ones forgiveness would then be if the believer had a connection with Allah (s.w.t.) and the ways of rasulallah (s.a.w.). In particular he mentioned that rasulallah mentioned us in a hadith in which he stated that a people will come who are his brothers and in whom he loves prior to them knowing or loving him. Al habib advised to have a tongue that remembers and a heart that thanks Allah. Despite Rooty Hill mosque being a distance to drive following magrib prayers, the mosque was totally full of believing men and women, with a total count of 900. The topic for the night was "Allah the forgiver". Al habib mentioned a hadith in which Aisha was praised (with a personal dua) by rasulallah (s.a.w.) following a righteous deed. Having noted and confirmed her joy at this dua, rasulallah stated that he performs this dua nightly for his ummah. The dua calls for the forgiveness of all sins- past, future, private, public, internal and external. Al habib mentioned a specific dhikr that if performed 27 times in the morning and night would result in the individual’s prayers being mustajab (astagfir Allah lilmumineen wal muminat). Photos:
