Day3 Habib Umar's Australian Tour 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Monday 3/May/2009

All lines in fajr prayer at South Granville were full of believers today. Al habib mentioned how a believer should seek out opportunities (nafahaat) to find causes for their life events. He advised to look upon scholars with reverence, look after the elderly and seek dikr circles. He recommended we perform the following dikr 100 times daily (la illaha illa allahu almallikalhuk almubeen).

Al habib presented a talk titled "The path to tranquility", a women only talk at Park Rd Auburn. With an estimated 900 sisters, women were forced to sit on the front lawn and almost onto the footpath, the inside of the venue being fully packed out.

Daar Aisha then hosted an equivalent talk for female daais followed by and Q/A session. He mentioned how the signs of acceptance could be represented by a person having humility, increasing the utterance of dikr and reading Koran and the heightened state of mind this develops. The individual is then eager to give all their rights especially those of the spouse, parents, relatives, friends and neighbors. He also encouraged an increase in sisterhood and love between them as a source of general love between the community and also of increasing Allah(s.w.t.) love for the individual. He recommended that believers involved in dawa should read the biographies of the khashieen. He described the daai believer as like rain-wherever it drops it benefits., and also like the seller of musk- it you were to try it off him, it leaves you with a nice smell and if you were to buy it from him, then it’s a purchase of an item that you really want.

The first of lakemba mosques purification series started with an estimated 1100 attendees. He described how good character is one that is content with their rizk, is satisfied with Allah (s.w.t.) allotment to them, lacks a desire in this world and has an intimacy in remembering Allah (s.w.t.). these qualities allow one to get repose in this world. The worst of persons on the day of judgment is described as one who has performed good deeds but whose sins bankrupts them of this.

Mercy: the key to dawah has been marketed by the tour team for the last 4 weeks. This saw an estimated 700 individuals filling Omar Mosque following isha prayer-one would have thought it was a jumma or eid prayer. From the immediate feedback of brothers and sisters of all ages, this was a historic talk for daais, Muslims and our broader community, with many different daais listening attentively and deriving extensive practical and motivational benefit. As a professionally filmed event hard copies of this talk will soon be made available, permitting us to have perpetual remembrance of al habibs wisdom.

Al habib completed his day by hosting some of Sydney’s Muslim coverts at the newly renovated park Rd dawa centre. He asked converts to introduce themselves to one another, then detailed the virtues of believers and the role they have in the presentation of Islam to our broader community.
